Bonding is a popular choice for making cosmetic improvements to teeth, especially restoring decaying teeth. Bonding is a composite resin application that can be placed on both the front and back of teeth. The benefits of bonding include changing the color and shape of teeth.
In the bonding process, we apply the bonding material and sculpt, color and shape the material to create a cosmetically improved smile. High-intensity light hardens the materials and we polish the surface to create natural-looking teeth. As with any cosmetic procedure, it is best to choose a dentist that has cosmetic dentistry experience to ensure the most natural-looking results.
Each case is different, but, typically, bonding takes only a few hours.

Porcelain veneers are a permanent cosmetic dentistry solution for patients wanting to aesthetically enhance their smiles. A porcelain veneer is a thin, semi-translucent laminate that we, as your cosmetic dentist, design specifically for your goals. These veneers are then bonded permanently to your teeth. Porcelain veneers are the most aesthetic alternative for a variety of dental conditions, including: gaps or spaces between the front teeth, broken teeth, permanently stained or discolored teeth, cracked teeth. Generally, when someone thinks of cosmetic dentistry, they usually have porcelain veneers in mind.
The benefits and advantages of porcelain veneers include the speed of the procedure, which can be completed by a properly trained cosmetic dentist in two visits. Additionally, a healthy, natural look and feeling is most easily achieved with porcelain veneers. They are healthy and biocompatible. Porcelain veneers are made of the most biocompatible material you can use this close to your delicate gum tissue and the alveolar bone.
Porcelain veneers are applied to the front of teeth to lengthen ground down teeth, repair cracks, cover discoloration and alter the shape or hide crookedness and gaping. Porcelain veneers are virtually undetectable and highly resistant to coffee, tea or other staining agents. For strength and appearance, their resemblance to healthy, white tooth enamel is unsurpassed by other restorative options.
On a first appointment, we prepare your teeth for the porcelain veneers and an impression is taken. This dental impression is sent to a dental lab where each porcelain veneer is custom made to our specifications. On the first visit, we create attractive temporaries for you to simulate your new smile. You can expect to leave the first appointment with a beautiful new smile! At the second appointment, we permanently adhere your porcelain veneers to your natural teeth. Adjustments may be required as you get used to their new teeth but, normally these are minor, easy adjustments made in minutes.
Teeth recontouring is a cosmetic procedure we perform in our office to help people with unevenly shaped or sized teeth. It is not uncommon to use teeth recontouring to correct chips or nicks in teeth.
Teeth recontouring is not the same as the application of veneers or bonding. Those procedures require the adhesion of a restoration that presents a new look for the tooth. With teeth recontouring, we use a specially designed sanding device to make small corrections in the size and shape of the teeth. Once this is completed, we polish the teeth to complete a new, finished look. For best results, you should choose a well-trained cosmetic dentist.
There are some dental health benefits to having your teeth recontoured. For instance, teeth recontouring can correct slight overlaps in teeth, reducing the risk of tartar and plaque build up on teeth.
